At the University of Texas, an extensive renovation and expansion of the Delta Tau Delta Shelter, built in 1940, was required to bring the property up to date. A successful fraternity fundraising effort yielded excellent results.

  • Built a two-story addition on the current “sport court” property with 12 single rooms and six baths

  • Created a lodge-type commons area for study

  • Purchased two additional lots to replace the former “sport court”, with parking

  • Installed wiring in main house sleeping rooms for future technologicalneeds

  • Converted downstairs bedrooms to a computer room, a seminar room, and agroup study area

  • Remodeled the kitchen

  • Remodeled entry and dining hall/chapter room areas for morenatural lighting

  • Remodeled main floor restrooms for ADA-compliant accessibility

  • Replaced windows

  • Installed fire-rated doors, hard-wired smoke detector/alarm system, and upgraded mechanical system

  • Remodeled  the stone exterior for curb appeal
