When the opportunity presented itself to return Pi Kappa Alpha at the University of Alabama to 202 University Boulevard, the Gamma Alpha House Corporation seized it. With the cooperation and support of University officials, the lot at the corner of University and 2nd was officially designated as the new home for Gamma Alpha. Following a successful fundraising campaign, the House Corporation engaged the professional services of Holmes & Holmes Architects to develop the design of their new facility, a 25,600 square foot facility that meets the ever-changing needs of today’s student and will provide a grand location for Gamma Alpha alumni to gather for decades to come. This modern facility with a traditional “Old South” look, designed after Pavilion III on the Lawn and 47 West Range at The University of Virginia where PiKA was founded, will be home to 36 brothers and a housemother, and will allow the chapter to seat all of its members at weekly dinners and chapter meetings. Increased private parking and a courtyard behind the house will also provide significantly more space than their previous location.
