Iowa State University’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon Gamma House initiated a capital campaign to fund its $1.3 million upgrade to 21st Century standards and remain viable in a competitive housing market, while maintaining its integrity as a historic place of residence in Ames.

Here are the highlights of the renovation:

  • New first floor balcony: provided outdoor event area, covered area for VEISHEA work

  • New library study lounge

  • More gallery display space and circulation

  • New women’s restroom

  • New television room

  • Expanded and remodeled kitchen

  • New second floor balcony

  • Remodeled old edition study rooms with new data wiring, finishes, and furniture

  • Remodeled corridor with new finishes and lighting

  • Expanded and remodeled recreation room with workroom and storage space

  • Remodeled study rooms with data wiring, finishes, and furniture

  • Remodeled corridor with new finishes and lighting

  • Provided new group study and conference room
