Through months of careful study, assessment, and planning, the Gamma Psi House Corporation ran a capital campaign to raise funds for a major renovation of the Sigma Chi chapter house at Michigan State University. The emphasis of the project will be on providing essential renovations to the infrastructure.

In all areas, the architects have been instructed to address mandatory building and fire code requirements. The House Corporation’s aim is a high-quality facility and a safe living and learning environment.

  • Replace plumbing and electrical systems to accommodate the

  • volume/size of the house and address safety issues.

  • Install a new roof to prevent further leakage and damage to the facility.

  • Replace the existing heating system with a new energy-efficient

  • system to provide a safe, comfortable living environment.

  • Install an energy-efficient central air-conditioning system to make

  • Gamma Psi more competitive with other housing options at

  • Michigan State.

  • Reorganize floor plan to accommodate a suite-style living

  • environment conducive to today’s academic needs.

  • Update electronic security and entrance hardware, along with new

  • commercial-rated doors and frames for the safety of the

  • undergraduates and the facility.

  • Remodel and expand conference room to provide ample group study

  • space.

  • Make site improvements, including the parking lot, property lighting,

  • landscaping, and new signage for structural durability and aesthetic

  • appeal.

  • Replace and rewire for additional lighting to enhance study spaces

  • and aesthetics of the facility, and to accommodate the electronic

  • needs of today’s students.

  • Relocate laundry facilities to residence floor to allow storage in

  • basement.

  • Install a fire suppression system throughout the chapter house.

  • Upgrade the kitchen facilities, equipment, and safety systems.

  • Replace common area furniture.
