With the increasingly competitive environment at the University of Texas and the continued need to address preventative maintenance and life safety systems, Texas Alpha wanted to be able to secure its future by renovating, expanding, and enhancing the entire Sigma Phi Epsilon facility. A successful capital campaign allowed the following improvements:

  • Created a safe living environment with the installation of sprinklers and fire-rated, self-closing doors

  • Developed a building endowment to prevent deferred maintenance

  • Installed new electrical/data/mechanical systems as necessary

  • New windows, lighting, and finishes throughout the main building

  • Created a 9,690 square foot addition that includes:

    • Multipurpose floor to allow for athletics and functions

    • Two study/meeting rooms

    • 1,200 square foot of storage

    • 1,760 square foot of storage

    • Men’s and women’s restrooms

  • Provided a partially covered outdoor venue between the main house and the addition

  • Established a maintenance endowment to ensure technological and educational components of the facility are properly maintained
