Without significant improvements since 1962, Acacia embarked on a capital campaign for its chapter house at Oregon State University to fund a major renovation, endow a scholarship program, and create a maintenance fund. With these funds, the Oregon State chapter was able to:
• Install new exterior siding, repaint the house, and upgrade parking and landscaping
• Install a security door keypad and slate tile flooring in the entry foyer
• Repaint and install new fixtures and furniture in the powder room
•Repaint, upgrade the chimney, refinish hardwood flooring, and install new carpet and furniture in the living room
• Repaint, remove the carpet, and refinish the floor of the Gabriel room
• Reconfigure the room layout, install new fixtures, and repaint the kitchen
• Repaint, install new flooring and furniture in the dining room
• Re-carpet, installed built-in furniture, and repaint the president’s office
• Repaint and install new carpet in the library
• Repaint, install new fixtures, and upgrade the bathroom in the advisor’s room
• Install built-in mail cubbies, repaint, and replace fixtures in the mail area and back hall
• Repaint, recarpet, and replace fixtures and furniture on the lower level
• Install additional washers and dryers in the basement
• Add heat and insulation, new paint and carpet, and new fixtures and built-ins to the study rooms
• Replace mattresses on the sleeping porch
• Upgrade electrical and plumbing systems throughout the house
• Install a fire suppression system
