The Gamma Theta alumni and undergraduate leadership developed a solid plan to address the long-term viability of the Alpha Tau Omega experience on the University of Nebraska campus. The fraternity embarked on a capital campaign to raise funds for the renovation. Project highlights include:

  • Updated fire sprinkler and alarm systems

  • Improved HVAC system for efficiency

  • Improved parking lot, property lighting, and landscaping

  • Provision for ample study space, including areas for individual and group study, as well as wireless Internet access throughout the facility

  • Construction of a new kitchen and serving station

  • Increased occupancy from 69 to 78 beds

  • Expanded housemother’s apartment and the addition of a women’s restroom

  • A new outdoor patio for alumni gatherings and Cornhusker football weekends

  • Converted kitchen area into lounge/entertainment area

  • Furnished rooms with new beds, desks, chairs and wardrobe furnishings
