Alpha Mu’s 74-year old Theta Chi chapter house at Iowa State University was destroyed by a tragic fire on October 5, 1996. A successful capital campaign will allow the chapter to rebuild with a view to the following goals:

Enhanced academic component of the house by providing ample individual and group study space and state-of -the-art computer room. 
- 
Installed electrical and communication wiring that adequately meets the present and future technological needs of residents (computers, printers, and telecommunication equipment) 
- 
Installed modular desks and closets in study rooms to provide increased flexibility 
- 
Upgraded life-safety features to included hard-wired smoke detectors, self-closing fire-rated doors, and a sprinkler system 
- 
Provided first floor dining and living room to accommodate approximately 100 people 
- 
Offered large activity/Chapter Room in basement opening up to back yard 
- 
Improved floor plan to effectively utilize living space 
- 
Provided a multi-purpose area in basement designated for student functions and VEISHEA related activities
